Julia & Dave
Festival Theme Celebrant Wedding
Last week I had the pleasure of being invited to a wedding in Bath, not only one of my favourite cities but also to a festival theme wedding! GLASTO! The venue was the Field Good Bar, a field (no surprises there) just outside of Bath complete with marquees, a bar, hay bails and a great attitude to make your day what you want it to be. It has all mods cons for a festival. Julia and Dave have been attending festivals for years and as radio producers, they brought a touch of showbiz to their day with Steve Wright recording a special show for their guests while waiting for the bride and groom, the lead singer of the Stranglers serenading the couple down the aisle to Harry Connick Jnr's 'It had to be you', a red carpet for the aisle and vintage radio sets adorned every table for the wedding breakfast. Having had a small religious ceremony the day before, Julia and Dave opted for a celebrant wedding for all their friends and family. What a day, swelteringly hot, great views of Somerset and some fantastic music from local bands, including Vegas. The wedding was smiles from start to finish, with a laid back approach to everything from the dress code (some in shorts and Hawaiian shirts, some in more formal attire) through to 7-inch vinyl records hanging everywhere to reflect the couples long-serving careers in radio on Radio 1 and Radio 2. Amazing couple, amazing day, amazing venue! Thanks, guys!
